Biography
------------------------------------------------------sunshy is the self-produced project by Sascha Deng and Wesley Park. The duo found one another at their college radio in Chicago. Their sonic signature blends swirling distorted guitars, wispy synthesizers, and enchanting vocals into a catharsis that is best described as a noisy, ethereal chaos. Lyrically, they find the liminal space between the abstract and the particular, grasping at the intangible experiences of isolation, blurred memories, and unspoken desires.
As children of Chinese and Korean immigrants in America, they seek to incorporate and represent non-Western influences into their music. Their MakeOutMusic debut single ‘dissolve’ was released on June 6, 2023 and their second single ‘Hyacinth’ was released on September 5th, 2023. They are releasing a debut a full length project in 2024.
